About Us

PRODIGY FOOTBALL

Founded in 2022, the aim of Prodigy Football was to give parents an affordable form of childcare whilst providing a high quality, developmental & fun environment through football for children aged 5 to 11 years olds. We also wanted to ensure we could provide affordable & beneficial services to local grassroots clubs to enhance what they are currently offering. In 2023 Prodigy Football begun to provide After School Clubs, but not just football. We want to provide services which keeps as many children as possible healthy and active. To help show we are more than just a football coaching company we added our Prodigy Sports Coaching logo. Our clubs change depending on the seasons and can range from Netball to Cross Country to Cricket or even Dodgeball.

Prodigy Football & Prodigy Sports Coaching was founded by Ryan who is a Primary School  P.E. Lead as well as being supported by other coaches who on their C.V. also show Primary P.E. Leads, Academy Football Coaches, College & Uni Sports Students as well as those who live, breath and eat sport.

Our Story

We begun our journey with the support of Badshot Lea FC Colts in February 2022, supporting them with their Little Strikers programme every Saturday morning. Since leading these sessions for BLFC we have seen a massive growth in attendance each week and are also part of the planning process for creating new teams in the u7 age group during each summer term. We were then asked to support Badshot Lea FC Colts further by providing weekly goalkeeper specific  sessions for their keepers from u7s to u16s. Easter 2022 saw us start our first football camp. We managed to secure the lovely facilities of Badshot Lea FC at Westfield Lane with bonus of getting our final day on the senior pitch. We wanted to ensure our camps we're different and we certainly found a way which every attendee seems to be excited about. Our camps run for 3 days a week, and our final day always finished with a player of the week training top. We wanted to make sure it wasn't just for football and development a top could be won for but also teaching our attendees personal skills which helps them to be better people. We look always keep an eye on those who show with honesty, integrity, respect and want to go the extra mile to help a coach or another attendee.

Our Philosophy

PRACTICE - PROGRESS - PERFORM

PRACTICEwe ensure that all our practices cover the 4 corner model of Technical/Tactical, Social, Physical & Psychological. This gives children a better all round picture of the game.

We also know the importance of 'Ball Mastery' or to most... the basics. As children progress through the ages, the fine motor skills of ball mastery is often over looked. Those who continue to work on ball mastery often become a better all round football as they gain a better understanding of how to manipulate the ball when in different scenarios, often getting the best outcome from their decision. We always keep our foot on the ball, maximising the about of ball moving time & the amount of ball touches in sessions.

PROGRESSprogression comes differently to each individual, and understanding they progress in different ways & different times will help with confidence.

Progression cannot come instantly, understanding where the player or coach is at with where they want to get to allows us at PRODIGY FOOTBALL to help take that first step towards the end goal.

Progression is a journey where even when we feel like it we have got our target we must always be ready for a different scenario where we may need to adapt.

Our sessions take players & coaches through that journey, from the basics, to performing, consistently performing, performing under pressure, performing in a game.

No matter how big or small, progression is progression and that our aim with every player & coach we work with.

PERFORMAfter putting in all the practice, there is no better feeling in performing; but performing it effectively can be a whole different matter. Continuous practice & fine tuning helps keep improving the performance and creating different scenarios helps players perform under different pressures and in different ways.
