What is Prodigy Mini-Ballers?
Prodigy Mini-Ballers is our weekend football sessions offered to children aged 4 to 7. Our aim to is prepare them for joining local grassroots teams.
What will they learn on the Mini-Ballers Sessions?
Children will learn a variety of different skills across different weeks, including dribbling, passing & shooting as well as using those skills in fun games & matches. Children will also develop their decision making, social skills & fundamental movement skills to help them develop away from football.
What's the structure for a session?
Sessions will start at 9am each week, but footballs will be available from 8.50am so children arriving early can spend some time before either kicking a ball with their grown up or friends.
Our warm up will always include each child having a ball, to give them maximum touches on the ball, and this will be through fun, themed warm up games.
After our warm up, we will then work on our skill for the week. Children will see demo's from coaches/other children and will then practice the skill through challenging sessions.
Our session is then rounded off with small sided matches each week. This allows the children to practice their skills in a competitive environment, whilst also learning the rules of the game, preparing them for 'competitive' football with grassroots clubs.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payments for Mini-Ballers sessions can be paid for in advance via our online booking system. This guarantees your space on the session you have booked, and you can book sessions as far in advance as you need to for that term. When booking online you can also get your first sessions FREE, using the code on the flyer.
If sessions are cancelled by Prodigy Football due to external circumstances, then the payment made will be returned back to you in credit or can be moved across to the next session.
Cash can be paid on the day, however it does not guarantee your space if we are already at our maximum capacity for that weeks ratio.
What happens at the end of our Mini-Ballers journey?
Our aim is to then lead children into grassroots football clubs where they will train on a weekday evening & play local matches on the weekends. We support the clubs we work with to help establish teams, we begin this process around February each year, with children currently in Year 1. When children start in Year 2, this is where their grassroots football journey begins, however we know this isn't always the right step for everyone, which is why our Mini-Ballers sessions take children up until the end of Year 2.
What else do we offer?
After children have attended 8 sessions, we give them a Prodigy Football Mini-Ballers shirt.
Once children have reach 5 years old, they can also attend our football holiday camps, where we also have a Mini-Ballers group.
